Matthew Paiss
Matt serves as a Technical Advisor for PNNL's Battery Materials & Systems group as part of the Reliability & Safety Team, he leads the Energy Storage Safety Codes & Standards. Bringing over 25 years of emergency response experience to safety codes & standards development in energy storage research. He currently supports a wide range of education outreach efforts and supports PNNL's Grid Storage Launchpad (GSL) reliability testing program.
Prior to joining PNNL, he spent 23 years with the San Jose Fire Department retiring as a Captain.
